i just saw my annual review from my art director this year, was good 1 grade higher then last year but the increase was sight ~ it looks like i have to move on to somewhere else to develop my skill after all creative agency is where im looking for ogivily is where im going for =).

the battle
having to said so the battle continues for another day, obviously i didnt win in situation like that but i think i fought back and won my teammate respect, i give myself 90marks for this. people like to push the blame to each other and draw a line in cases like this when problem arise haha, maybe i didnt care about it much after all i know if i tender now my next pay will be at least 10% higher then this so do i care?.
however just like what chaim see tong did even he lost in bishan he won everyone's respect which is very remarkable and respectable. i realize i've grow up suddenly realizing i cannot always agree with what they say i have to voice out and fight for myself. lastly i still have my PRIDE as a designer.

well i finally did myself proud i still have my pride im not going to hide under my chair and pretend nothing has happen after they send email like this im going to be myself from now onwards i will strive and fight for myself like what the wp in aljunied did...

suddenly there's a deafening silence and you find the person ten feet away from you.

It's sad this has to be raised to the team thru this episode, but it's necessary to say it to everyone's face.

I'm not saying there will never ever be late submission.
There will be times when last minute stuff surfaces.

If they choose to do only one check (or don't check every single sentence or link, etc) it's their choice.

Once at first draft, another time after test blast.
Meanwhile, designers do checks that fall under their responsibility.
And checking to ensure tracking code is inserted into the eNewsletter is one of them.

Don't be nice. Be firm.
Indicate the time you need to do your necessary check.
Do not because of last minute changes or submission caused you to skip your own checks.
Whoever submit late materials, they are responsible for causing the delay. Not you.
Tell OIC you cannot deliver final output in time because you need to do your own check.
If you are not given the time as you have already specified that is needed to check, ask the person will he take over your responsibility if errors occur.
If eBlast is delayed due to reason of late submission of materials, you are not responsible, the one who caused the delay is.
Never, never, skip your own checks, because you are accountable for them. Not others.
Don't let anyone say why you didn't do your checks.
You have every right to be given time to do your own checks.
Just to clarify for the rest, this email thread is NOT about Zhi Wei forgotten to check the tracking code in last month's eNewsletter...

sometime i just feel that i'm lucky i got a boss that is willing to teach me as in she's really zai in her stuff. my design can change up to 4-5 times sometimes although feeling frustrated but i believe patient is the main key attribute a designer needs... at least i know im learning everyday. so, thank you kelly.

yap i'm kind of tie up with my work recently and feeling kind of lazy to actually blog. haha just came back from taiwan last month and my mailbox was flooded for 1week lol 62 mail? did i mention taiwan yes was a 7days trips with my family was so fun and memorable, looking forward for my next trip yeap.... and woot finally my own cubicle after suffering in that room for more then 6months... =) my portfolio section link is up, hopefully when my website is ready i'll get a hosting. =)

as i was walking down to office today i was thinking real hard cos it takes like 15minutes to reach there from yck station. at the rate im going now seriously i dont think i will gain any portfolio at office no project always give me lame stuff do, other then that nothing to really complain about the pay is obviously good and working hour is like good also. if people take 2 year to become senior designer i think i will take 5 year or more depending on where im working on haiz sian, i really need to think it before i go to study degree and work again. maybe my initially my plan was to reach senior web designer at like when i 27-28? but after i calculate i dont think can eh with the rate im progressing im like too slow man, so the conculsion is i have to work on these myself and progressive and be a self-educated .

Woot 2010, im 24 this year sigh~ the no. keeps getting bigger which frustrate me a lot now adays.
its true in project runway she say, in design one day you're in the other day you're out. welcome to the design world. sounds EMO right every ep i see i feel so emo just dunnoe how they manage to come out with the design in 1 day and execute it maybe it really need a lot of talent and .. guess i'll end here figure out yourself on this then... =)
