------------------------------------------------------------------------
actually, i'm so glad this thing happened
a good wake-up call for the team
"if you need someone to be accountable for this then i will"
Thank you for taking accountability, Zhi Wei.
This is a compliment, actually, because not many here do.
At least from the many people that I've come across.
Some talk and talk and talk but when you ask them will they take responsible for carrying out a particular task,
suddenly there's a deafening silence and you find the person ten feet away from you.
"i believe no one is perfect neither am i"
Totally. Me neither.
Let the person who thinks he is perfect cast the first stone.
"However would appreciate if everyone follow the timeline stated and submit their portion on time"
It's sad this has to be raised to the team thru this episode, but it's necessary to say it to everyone's face.
And I'll leave it to the driver of eNewsletters to decide how to manage or enforce this.
I'm not saying there will never ever be late submission.
There will be times when last minute stuff surfaces.
"i notice test blast sometimes serve a visual reference as 1st draft for some of the people to check their portion rather then looking at the jpeg i send"
We can't control other people's actions.
If they choose to do only one check (or don't check every single sentence or link, etc) it's their choice.
If there's any cockup that is due to the person's neglience, they take accountability. Not you.
Aloysius does ask the team to check their respective areas twice.
Once at first draft, another time after test blast.
Meanwhile, designers do checks that fall under their responsibility.
And checking to ensure tracking code is inserted into the eNewsletter is one of them.
"i dont have the luxury time of 1day gap to check and verify "my portion". Has anyone even look into my problem?"
No more Mr Nice Guy.
Don't be nice. Be firm.
Indicate the time you need to do your necessary check.
Do not because of last minute changes or submission caused you to skip your own checks.
Whoever submit late materials, they are responsible for causing the delay. Not you.
Tell OIC you cannot deliver final output in time because you need to do your own check.
If you are not given the time as you have already specified that is needed to check, ask the person will he take over your responsibility if errors occur.
If eBlast is delayed due to reason of late submission of materials, you are not responsible, the one who caused the delay is.
Never, never, skip your own checks, because you are accountable for them. Not others.
Don't let anyone say why you didn't do your checks.
You have every right to be given time to do your own checks.
Just to clarify for the rest, this email thread is NOT about Zhi Wei forgotten to check the tracking code in last month's eNewsletter...

Well i made a mistake for this i apologise, if you need someone to be accountable for this then i will. i believe no one is perfect neither am i, after all in a environment like this its about we helping each other together we learn we improve and move on.
However would appreciate if everyone follow the timeline stated and submit their portion on time, and i notice test blast sometimes serve a visual reference as 1st draft for some of the people to check their portion rather then looking at the jpeg i send? Besides that last minute amended on content and stuff like that?...
Facing all problems stated above, i dont have the luxury time of 1day gap to check and verify "my portion". Has anyone even look into my problem?
Lastly i think i have done my very best, Thank you! ☺
Best Regards,
Zhiwei
